AGARTALA: In setting a new milestone in the sector of public service, the Tripura government has achieved the task of a 10% Aadhar linkage process with ration cards in Tripura.
The recent development was informed to the chief minister of the state Biplab Kumar Deb at the time when he was chairing a review meeting of the department of food at the civil secretariat.
According to the government press release at the high-level discussion, Sharadindu Chowdhury the secretary to the Dept of Food, Public Resources and Consumer Affairs Dept stated that there are a total of 1884 fair price shops in Tripura and among these 466 are located in urban areas and the rest are in rural regions.
Chowdhury in the meeting informed that biometric authentication has been introduced in every ration shop across the state. He said that the citizens of Tripura are now able to lift ration from anywhere in India by using the newly distributed ration cards and this is possible because of the synchronization of the Aadhar data.
He also made it clear that every procedure starting from the management of stock to goods delivery is functioned and monitored digitally to maintain the flow of ration goods transparent.
The Tripura government took the major decision for the opening of more than 408 ration shops among which a total of 159 shops are already working.
The CM Biplab Kumar Deb in the meeting stated that the LPG customers in Tripura will get gas cylinders just at their doorsteps under the PMs Ujjwala Yojana. He said that in view of this initiative the particular department must take efforts and the home delivery of cylinders will begin soon.
Deb also told the officials that the central government is making the payment of 28% as the cost of transportation for home delivery and therefore if the gas agencies are not willing to deliver the gas cylinders at home under any circumstances then strict action must be taken.
