AGARTALA: In a significant move aligned with the 'one man, one post' principle of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kishore Barman, the Tripura BJP General Secretary and MLA of Nalchar, made a noteworthy announcement on Monday. As the state gears up for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election and bye-elections, Barman tendered his resignation from his position within the party.

Addressing his resignation letter to Rajib Bhattacharya, the BJP state president, Barman emphasized his previous release from the post of General Secretary of BJP West Bengal Pradesh by the National BJP President JP Nadda on 8th July 2021. Grateful for the opportunity to serve as the General Secretary of the party under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Manik Saha and later Rajib Bhattacharya, he reflected on his two years in the position.

Barman's dedication and hard work were duly recognized when he was nominated as a candidate from the 21-Nalchar constituency in the 2023 assembly elections. His relentless efforts culminated in a victory, securing his position as an MLA from the Nalchar Assembly Constituency in Sepahijala District.

Despite his accomplishments, Barman remained committed to the principle of 'One person, one Post,' which advises against holding multiple positions simultaneously within the party. As a result, he felt it appropriate to seek release from the post of BJP Tripura State General Secretary.

In a humble request, Barman urged the state president to consider and accept his application for resignation. By stepping down from his current role, he aims to create opportunities for new leadership to emerge and contribute to the party's vision and goals in preparation for the upcoming elections.

As the BJP readies itself for the challenges of the forthcoming electoral contests, Barman's resignation marks a significant moment of leadership transition. The 'one man, one post' principle ensures that party members focus their energies on one responsibility at a time, promoting greater efficiency and dedication to their roles.

In conclusion, Kishore Barman's decision to resign as Tripura BJP General Secretary exemplifies his commitment to the 'One Man, One Post' principle, allowing the party to embrace fresh leadership and perspectives. As the political landscape continues to evolve, the BJP is poised to welcome new contributors who will play a pivotal role in shaping the party's future trajectory.
