Guwahati: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday morning informed via a tweet that he has tested negative for the dreaded coronavirus.
"My COVID-19 test results came NEGATIVE. For next 7 days I will follow home quarantine & other guidelines. Also, I will work from home. I thank beloved people of Tripura for your wishes and prayers. The fight against COVID-19 will continue and together we shall win", Biplab Deb wrote in a tweet.
It needs mention here that Biplab Deb had earlier gone into home quarantine after two of his family members had tested positive for the contagious disease. Following this, Deb himself was tested for the virus and the result has been found to be negative.
"Two of my family members found Covid-19 positive. Other family members found negative. I have undergone the COVID19 test, the result is yet to come. I am following self-isolation at my residence and all precautionary measures have been taken. Praying for the speedy recovery of family members", Deb wrote in a tweet.
Meanwhile, both the infected family members have been placed under home quarantine, Deb said. The minimize the risk of transmission of the dreaded virus, the chief minister's official residence has been sanitized.
The total coronavirus cases in India have surged to 1,855,745 while the death toll has climbed to 38,938, as per the data released by the Health ministry. Worldwide, the pandemic has now taken nearly 7 lakh lives, with 18 million confirmed cases.
