Agartala: A 20-year-old college girl was allegedly abducted from her locality and was gang-raped by four persons in Tripura's Gomati district.

Reportedly, the incident took place on Monday, when some miscreants abducted the girl from a petrol pump located in her village.

However, the police with the help of a social organization successfully rescued the girl but unfortunately, none of the accused could be nabbed so far.

The accused have been identified as Jahangir Hossain while three others involved in the act are his friends.

As per the police, the girl was taken to Hossain's house and raped multiple times.

The Police have registered a case against the four accused at Melaghar police station. However, no arrest has been made so far.

Notably, each month there have reports of gang rape which is coming to the fore from the northeast region or other parts of the country.

In one of such incidents recently, a six-year-old and her mother were allegedly gang-raped by some unidentified persons in moving into Uttrakhand's Haridwar district.

According to reports, the incident took place on Friday night when the girl and her mother heading towards Roorkee from Kaliyar. The woman along with her daughter took a lift in a car on the Kaliyar-Roorkee Road.

After this, three to four men gang-raped them inside the car before dumping them near the Ganga Canal stretch and fled in the car.

An FIR under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered at the Civil Lines police station in Roorkee against unknown persons on basis of the woman's complaint.
