AGARTALA: In the vicinity of Goalabasti near the New Capital Complex in Agartala, a sudden and violent confrontation has sent shockwaves through the community. The incident, which unfolded as a result of a property dispute, led to the tragic death of Nagina Prasad Rai, aged 65, and left multiple others injured. The unexpected turn of events took an even more disconcerting twist as one of the five individuals apprehended in connection with the incident is personnel from the Border Security Force (BSF).

The roots of this tragic episode can be traced back to a dispute within the family over a property matter. What began as a simple disagreement between two family members quickly spiraled into a violent clash that sent ripples of sorrow and dismay through the community.

Nagina Prasad Rai, a 65-year-old resident of the area, found himself at the epicenter of this dispute. Sustaining severe injuries during the altercation, he was promptly rushed to GBP Hospital in Agartala, where efforts were made to save his life. Tragically, despite the best medical attention, Rai succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a mourning community.

Agartala's law enforcement agencies, particularly the Tripura Police, swiftly responded to the situation. Deb, a representative of the police force, stated, "We have apprehended five individuals involved in the incident and initiated further investigations to detain more persons connected to the case. Additionally, we have confiscated some iron rods and non-lethal weapons."

The arrested individuals have been identified as Bijendra Roy, Sachindra Roy, who is a member of the Border Security Force (BSF), Dinesh Roy, Nasib Lal Roy, and Ramsagar Roy. The involvement of a BSF jawan in such an incident has raised questions and concerns about the circumstances surrounding the clash.

The local authorities are diligently continuing their probe into the matter, delving deeper to uncover the intricacies of what transpired in Goalabasti. The community remains in shock and mourning, grappling with the sudden loss of one of its own and the unsettling reality of violence erupting within their peaceful neighborhood.
