Guwahati: Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has informed on Wednesday, June 24, that pineapples from Tripura have got a consumer in Dubai.
"Pineapples from Tripura got a buyer in Dubai through the digital agriculture platform of CSC. The farmer who used to sell pineapples in local markets at a very low price has got a very attractive price for his produce", he wrote in a tweet.
It has been reported that the Dubai buyer has got through the digital agricultural platform of Consumer Service center (CSC).
Despite a low level of production in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the trader sold the fresh pineapples at a very nominal price, which has got a very attractive price for his produce.
It is to be noted here that Tripura is one of the largest pineapple growing states in the country, and pineapple farming is one of the primary sources of income for the farmers of the Northeast Indian states.
