Agartala: The Rapid Anti-body Test which was supposed to begin in all the eight districts of Tripura from Wednesday along with rest of the country has been put on hold as per instructions from the Indian Council of Medical Research following allegations about the authenticity of the kits supplied to the States.

It is learnt that the ICMR has instructed to put anti-body tests on hold for two days as it received some allegation about the kits from States like West Bengal and Rajasthan. Both the States alleged that the capacity of the kits to detect the disease is not satisfactory and as low as 5.4 percent.

Dr Deep Debbarma, State Surveillance Officer told reporters that the State has received 3840 kits from the Center and these were distributed among the districts. They have decided to put tests on hold after learning about the ICMR instructions.
