Agartala: Several parts of Tripura witnessed post-poll violence on June 26 following the declaration of the by-poll results.
This has resulted in section 144 CrPC getting imposed in the capital city of Agartala.
SDM Sadar Ashim Saha has imposed prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC and under this order, people will be strictly prohibited to gather within the areas of the city.
This move has been taken to ensure that the series of violent incidents that occurred soon after the announcement of the results does not pop up any further and to keep the law and order under control.
The orders were issued after BJP and Congress workers were engaged in a violent confrontation that erupted in Agartala and this heated exchange led to around 20 people, including state Congress chief Birajit Sinha, incurring injuries.
