Agartala: The Brazilian Cultural Festival will be organized in Tripura with the support of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) administration. The festival will be held at Khumulwng in the district of West Tripura.
Addressing the crowd at the 12th foundation day of Tripura Tribal Folk College at NUAI auditorium, an executive member of TTAADC, Kamal Kalai, expressed that the aim of organising the festival is to encourage the exchange of language and culture between the people of Brazil and Tripura.
The members of the TTAADC also invited the Brazilian Ambassador, Andre Aranha Correa to visit Tripura during a recent meeting. The ambassador is likely to visit the state in September or October, 2021.
Kamal Kalai added, "TTAADC has plans set afoot to set up folk music centers in 33 sub-zonal areas across the state, and discussions are underway to form a cultural advisory committee with experienced people".
Further, the Chief Executive Member of TTAADC, Purna Chandra Jamatia, in his speech at the programme, said, "The TTAADC administration has taken necessary initiatives are being taken for the overall development of the ADC area. Special initiatives are being taken to develop one's language and culture."
"Under the leadership of royal scion and MDC Pradyot Kishore Debbarman had talks with the ambassadors of Brazil and Israel in New Delhi to exchange culture with those respective countries," he added.
Jamatia also requested the state government to make efforts to encourage international exchange for the development of language and culture.
