As many as 18 people including children fall ill after consuming Prasad in Biswanath

In a shocking incident, as many as 18 people including children fell ill after consuming Prasad in a funeral ceremony at the residence of one Mohan Das at Moral village under Biswanath District on Thursday evening.

The affected people were identified as Ankita Saikia (15), Kabita Das (12), Jublee Das (7), Ria Saikia (11), Bandana Das (13), Junmoni Das (8), Jaya Das (19), Jannavi Das (12), Rupjyoti Das (16), Chandan Das (14), Biju Das (42), Sonmoni Das (5), Mimli Das (2.5), Momi Das (22), Prashanta Das (15), Pappu Das (16), Bijoya Das (45), Phaguni Das (35).

Later, all the affected people were shifted to Biswanath Civil Hospital for better medication.

Out of the 18, two of them were reported to be in serious condition.

Further investigation is on.
