Assam CM & Union Petroluem Minister Promise Development of Baghjan

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the media after their visit to the Baghjan gas well fire site on Sunday. They met the affected families at Baghjan Dighal Torong High School relief camp at Baghjan, Tinsukia.

They reviewed measures taken by experts from Singapore and OIL & ONGC to douse fire at Baghjan gas well site in Tinsukia. The fire has been burning since June 9th of this month. At least 8000 people have been moved to 12 relief camps. OIL has paid an immediate compensation of Rs 30,000 each to 1,610 affected families.
