Bir Lachit Sena leader Shrinkhal Chaliha slapped with sedition charges once again

Bir Lachit Sena leader Shrinkhal Chaliha was yet again charged with sedition on Friday following a case registered by the Crime Branch (CASE NO 1/19).

Chaliha was produced before the CJM Court in Guwahati and was booked under section 120B/122/143/147/148/149/150/152/153/526/333/353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Earlier, the CID of Assam Police had registered a case (30/2019) against Chaliha on charges of making provocative statements against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act

Speaking to the media, Advocate Upamanyu Hazarika informed that Chaliha was expecting a bail order in his previous case by this evening from the Gauhati High Court
