Biswanath Reports 1st Covid-19 Death in Second Wave

Assam is witnessing a spike in the number of Covid related deaths after reporting a sharp rise in the Covid 19 cases.

A Covid 19 patient who was in critical condition died at the Tezpur Medical College on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Rudra Maya Newar, a resident of Balijuri in Sootea. She was 45 when she died.

She was infected with the virus on Monday.

Body was cremated following COVID protocols, in presence of Na Duwar circle officer and Sootea Police team.

Assam recorded 41 new Covid related deaths on May 4. With the new fatalities, a total of 1,430 COVID-19 patients have died in the state till May 4.
