Day-Long Nationwide Strike: Banking services hit, normal life not affected much in the Guwahati City

The nationwide strike called on Wednesday by various trade unions and Left parties against the anti-labour polices of the Centre is likely to be a smooth affair in the Guwahati City.

The Bandh (Strike) however, has affected the banking services in the City.

Work at government departments remained unaffected.

On the other hand, '24-hr Chakka Bandh' by the Joint Forum of Assam Transport Workers' Associations from 5 am on January 8 in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 left an impact on the public transportation system as vehicles remained off the roads.
