Indigenous people would not be affected by the Citizenship Bill at all: CM Sonowal

The Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday stated that Assam's "indigenous people" would not be affected by the Citizenship Bill at all".

Speaking on the occasion of Asom Divas in remembrance of the glorious contributions of Swargadeo Chaolung Sukapha, the architect of greater Assam in Jorhat, CM Sonowal assured that the Assamese community will be protected and the Government has taken appropriate steps in this regard.
