Is Petrol bunk mixing water with fuel? Protest held in Hojai

The incidents of adulteration in Petrol are on the increase in the State. In an incident at Hojai, a large number of customers on Thursday protested against the alleged malpractices in a petrol bunk at Puroni Bazaar area.

The customers also showed adulterated petrol bottles wherein the containers had more than 50% of petrol mixed with water before the media.

Notably, the incident came to light on Thursday, when several commuters complained before the media that adulterated petrol had spoiled the functioning of their vehicles, thus, leading to an uproar inside the petrol bunk premises.

Later, the situation was brought under control by the Police and CRPF personnel.

Meanwhile, the petrol bunk has been sealed by the Circle official and samples of the petrol and diesel were collected for inspection by the Legal Metrology officials.
