Locals in Lumding blocks Railway Tracks for several hours

Local people at Lumding blocks railway tracks in the wee hours of Saturday morning following the reports of shutting down the level crossing by the Railway Department near Lumding Railway Station.

Locals also staged a protest in front of the Lumding Railway Station demanding permanent solution of the matter by construction of a different road or a bridge before shutting the level crossing.

Meanwhile, the UP bound Janashatabdi Express was blocked for several hours during the protest.

Former MLA Swapan Kar also alleged that the department has been dormant, as they failed to come into a conclusion since several decades.
