Mid-day meal workers staged protest against CAA 2019 at Chachal in Guwahati

The mid-day meal workers on Friday staged a protest against Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 at Chachal near VIP Road in Guwahati.

The protesters claimed that since last 14 years, Government of Assam has failed to look up their demands.

During the protest, the agitated mid-day meal workers also slammed BJP-led Government over their alleged authoritarian regime.

It may be mentioned that since the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 was passed by the Parliament of India on 11 December 2019. It amended the Citizenship Act of 1955 by providing a path to Indian citizenship for Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian religious minorities that had fled persecution from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan before December 2014.Citizenship Amendment Act
