Suspected Car Thief from Barpeta arrested from Paradise Hotel in Amguri

A person identified as Anwar Hussain from Barpeta was arrested from Paradise Hotel in Amguri in Sivasagar District on Wednesday.

As per police, the accused was involved in stealing a Chevrolet Beat car bearing registration number AS 25BC 6354 from Guwahati.

Later, he was supposed to sell it to a car lifter gangs in Nagaland, informed Haluwating police.

Meanwhile, police has seized the car from his possession and are conducting further investigation into the matter.

A case was also registered in connection to the matter at Haluwating police station Case No. 38/2019.
