Tension in Duliajan over a Slow Loris

A slow loris had been recovered from Bojaloni in Duliajan on August 7 which had escaped from Dihing Sanctuary and taken shelter atop a tree. The locals had decided that the animal should be transferred to Naharkatiya Chasni Merbil Tourism Project, but an NGO escaped with the slow loris. This irked the local residents and they gheraoed the Forest Department officials and started searching for the animal. Finally the officials succeeded in recovering the slow loris
