GUWAHATI: Assam bowed out from the men's football in the 2nd North East Olympics Games after losing their second game to Mizoram in Shillong today. Mizoram won the game 6-0. It was the second defeat for Assam in the tournament. Earlier, they also lost to Manipur by 0-3 in their first group game.

Meanwhile, Assam contingent today reached Shillong to take part in the Games which will kick off tomorrow. The Chef de mission of the team Tapan Das informed The Sentinel that this time 363 athletes from Assam will participate in the 7-day competition in 17 different events.

Meanwhile, the inaugural ceremony of the Games will be held in Shillong tomorrow. The ceremony will kick off at 4PM.
