Assam Olympic Association (AOA) officials meet Bimal Borah

GUWAHATI: Delegates of the Assam Olympic Association (AOA), led by its Secretary Lakhya Konwar, today met Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Bimal Borah and discussed on several issues related to the development of sports in the State. The AOA members also drew attention to the minister on some important issues related to the benefit of players.

Talking to The Sentinel a key official of the Assam Olympic Association said, "New Sports Minister is very much interested to upgrade the sports scenario of the state and assured to provide all possible help."

He also highlighted the issues which were drawn attention to the Sports Minister. The issues included: financial assistance to all the players who will participate in international level meets, ticket concession for State players in Assam State Transport Corporation's buses, job reservation in Assam State Transports Corporation and room on concession rate for national level players and officials in State Guest House etc.
