GUWAHATI: Assam State Equestrian Championships concluded at Delhi Public School, Numaligarh located within NRL Township premises. The event saw various competitions being held including Show Jumping, Hacks, Topscore, Dressage and Tent Pegging for both t Juniors and Open categories.
The riders put up a spirited display throughout the first two days. The show was stolen by the riders of the Equestrian Federation of Assam who won most of the medals for the senior competitions.
Special mention is to be made of Nammeir Ahmed of the Equestrian Federation of Assam (EFA) who won the Senior Dressage and Open Show Jumping competitions. Angad Singh Sekhon riding for the NCC and the EFA put up a feisty performance in the Senior Tent Pegging competition and the Topscore, winning both events.
In the juniors events, Arjun Aryan Chaliha and Kavya Bagrodia riding for the NCC and the EFA swept the prizes for the Junior Jumping and Junior Dressage events.
Earlier, the opening Ceremony was organized with much fanfare with Lt. Gen. RP Kalita officiating as the Chief Guest and Maj. Gen. A. Bhuyan officiating as the Guest of Honour in presence of MD NRL S K Barua.
