Assam swimmers win two medals

GUWAHATI: Assam swimmers won two medals on the first day of swimming event in the 37th national Games in Goa on Sunday. Astha Choudhury grabbed silver medal in 100m butterfly cetegory. She clocked 1:4:21 where Nina Venkatesh won the gold. Other swimmer from Assam Uttara Gogoi finished at eighth palce.

Moreover, Women 100m relay team comprising of Astha Choudhury, Shivangi Sharma, Jahnavi Kashyap and S. Priyadashini took the bronze medal with the timing of 4:3:38.

Shivangi entered the final of 200m freestyle, but failed to win a medal.
