Augsburg secure away win over Cologne

BERLIN: Cologne lost for the first time on home soil this season after second-half goals from Andre Hahn and Niklas Dorsch secured Augsburg a 2-0 victory at the curtain raiser of the German Bundesliga 15th round on Friday. Augsburg implemented a wait-and-see strategy from the starting whistle and let Cologne do the work. With the result, Augsburg jump on the 14th position of the table while Cologne stay on the ninth spot.

"We didn't make the most of our chances. We currently have difficulties to score goals. Augsburg created great danger with long-range efforts and scored a sensational 2-0 goal. However, I think we basically played well overall," Cologne head coach Steffen Baumgart said. IANS
