Awardees For OIL-ASJA Sports Awards Named

GUWAHATI: The OIL-ASJA Sports Awards 2022 function will be held in the city on September 22. The state level awards comprise Best Sportsperson of the Year, Best Junior Sportsperson of the Year, Best Team of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Special Jury Award and Assam Sports Journalism Centenary Year Scholarship. The awardees are being selected on the basis of their performance in international, national, zonal, regional and state level arena. Cash prizes will be awarded in every category.

The awardees are as follows:

RG Baruah Best Sportsperson of the Year: Nayanmoni Saikia (Lawn Bowls). NN Singha Best Junior Sportsperson of the Year: Astha Choudhury (Swimming). Nurul Amin Best Team of the Year: Oil India FC (Football). Pulin Das Lifetime Achievement Award: Balendra Mohan Chakravarty (Sports Journalist). Special Jury Award: Amlan Borgohain (Athletics). Assam Sports Journalism Centenary Year Scholarships: Sahil Dey (Chess), Priyanuj Bhattacharya (Table Tennis) and Upasha Talukdar (Gymnastics).
