All India Junior Ranking Badminton in Guwahati to start from May 10

GUWAHATI: Guwahati is all set to host the next edition of the All India U-19 Junior Ranking Badminton Championship from May 10-17. The competition will be held at the DTRP Indoor stadium.

Disclosing the news to the media the secretary of the Assam Badminton Association Omar Rashid said that around 1500 boys and girls shuttlers, including 100 from the State, will take part in the competition which will be held in singles, doubles and mixed doubles categories.

Rashid also added that the competition is crucial for the participating players as the probables for the Indian camp for forthcoming Asian Junior Badminton Championship will be selected from here. The Asian Junior Badminton Championship is scheduled to be held in Indonesia in July.

Meanwhile Assam Badminton Association included five new members in its executive committee. The newly included executive members are Mayur Bora, Bhupinderpal Singh, Pankaj Borbora, Bikash Pathak and Imtiazur Rahman.
