MS Dhoni Reveals Why He Wears Number 7 Jersey

New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will soon be seen entertaining his fans with his captaincy and batting on the field, but before that he has revealed a secret about his jersey number 7.

While talking on his jersey number 7, Dhoni has revealed why he chose only this number in the last.

'Many people initially thought that 7 is a lucky number for me, but I chose it for a very simple reason. I was born on 7th July. So it is the seventh day of the seventh month and that was the reason for choosing this number,'' he revealed this fact while interacting in an event organized by Chennai Super Kings.

Now, it is clear from Captain Cool's point that he did not choose the number 7 out of any superstition but according to the date and month of his birthday.

Often players are seen choosing their jersey number very thoughtfully. Any player wants a lucky number on his jersey, which also attracts a lot of attention from the players.

At times, these modest numbers become quite facetious and the same has been seen with the jersey number 7 of MS Dhoni. However, the truth is out now.

This year once again the team of Chennai Super Kings will be seen on the field under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. CSK have been winners four times under Dhoni's captaincy and if Chennai lifts the IPL trophy this year, they will be at par with Mumbai Indians, who have won the title five times.

This year, CSK will start the IPL against Kolkata Knight Riders on 26 March.
