GUWAHATI: His one after another match winning knocks made Suryakumar Yadav (SKY) a hot product in the local market as Team India's jersey with his name printed at the back side is selling like a hot cake.
India will take on Sri Lanka in the first game of the ODI series at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara here Tuesday. The cricket fans in the city throughout the day remained busy buying a souvenir jersey which they will wear at the time of the game. The jersey with SKY's name became super hit along with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma titled jersey.
Hockers today placed a few temporary stalls in front of the Nehru stadium to sell those jerseys and most of the cricket fans demanded SKY's jersey which cost around Rs 300. Hockers however were not prepared for that and they even admitted that it was a big mistake on their part for not bringing good quantities of SKY's jersey.
Dilip Gogoi, who watched several international matches in Guwahati, in an interaction with The Sentinel in front of the Nehru Stadium, said, "The way Suryakumar Yadav playing is superb. Tomorrow I will go into the stadium to cheer for him."
Meanwhile, ticket sales for this match continued today at the Nehru Stadium. It was the same story there also. Tapan Saikia, who stayed at the Maligaon locality, said , "SKY is a dynamite and I love to watch his batting. I hope he will score a century here also."
It may be mentioned here that Suryakumar Yadav scored a century in the last T20I against Sri Lanka held in Rajkot which India won by a handsome margin.
