In the Formula 1 World Championship on Friday 3 December Lewis Hamilton was the fastest in the two sessions held on the opening day of Saudi Arabian Grand Prix practice at Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
The highest class of international auto racing for single-seater Formula One has for the first time in history heads in the Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia with the first competition between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Hamilton was assured at the top with only 8 points separating him and Verstappen and with two rounds remaining in 2021.
Apart from the top two racers Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez separated from only 13 points in the battle for third in the drivers' championship with a major role of both the drivers to play. Mercedes leads Red Bull by five points and Ferrari is 39.5 ahead of McLaren in the fight for third.
