Five International players in Punjab Police get promotion

CHANDIGARH: Five internationally acclaimed players, comprising a couple, have been promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police in Punjab, officials said on Monday.

They are Commonwealth Games gold medallist shooter Avneet Sidhu, former Indian hockey skipper Rajpal Singh, Olympian discus thrower Harwant Kaur, Asian Games medallist shooter Harveen Sarao and hockey midfielder Gurbaj Singh.

They are among the 20 who were promoted as Superintendent of Police last week by the government. Agencies
