Darrang ready to host Bordoloi Trophy matches

Mangaldai: Tremendous enthusiasm has been prevailing among all section of sports lovers and footballers of Darrang district to witness the group C matches of the 68th Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament for the first time in the district with a six-day schedule from March 25 to March 30. The Guwahati Sports Association in active association with Jon Jyoti Pragati Sangha has decided to organize the Group C matches at Ghilakuri playground near historic Pothorughat. However a strong devastating wind this afternoon has caused major damage to the pavilion, stage and boundary covers.

On receipt of the information Superintendent of Police and former President of Mangaldai Sports Association Er Sushanta Biswa Sarma visited the playground and assured to extend all help and support to the organizers in making the tournament a successful one. In the Group C matches, four premier football teams namely Oil India. Duliajan, Tinisukia Bodosa Sports Club, CISF, New Delhi and Nagaland Police will take part.
