Grandmasters Chess : 4 players jointly on top

Guwahati: Four players are jointly leading the points table after the end of the sixth round in the 1st Guwahati Open International Grandmasters Championship held at the Tarun Ram Phukan Indoor Stadium here today. The four players who are now on the top with 5.5 points each are grandmaster Delgodo Ramirez Newris from Paraguay, two IM from India Sayantan Das, Ratnakaran K respectively, and Rios Chrithian Camilo of Colombia. Meanwhile several players from Assam produced good show and were successful to stay among the top 25 in the points table after the end of the sixth round. IM Sahil Dey is leading the State players with 5 point. He is closely followed by Santanu Borpatra Gohain, Rahul S Singh and Nilavjyoti Borthakur. All bagged four points each.
