Himanish Kumar Sarma clinches Rapid Chess Tournament title

GUWAHATI: Himanish Kumar Sarma clinched the Sunday Rapid Chess Tournament title which was held at the Guwahati Chess Academy premises here today. Himanish remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and scored 5.5 points from 6 rounds. In the final round, Himanish drew with Rajat Bafna. Rajat bagged second place with 5 points. Neehar Das, also scored 5 points, declared third on the basis of tie-break score. Hridika Das and Manthan Lahkar got fourth and fifth position respectively by scoring 4.5 points each. Nibhriti Goswami was named best girl of the tournament with 4 points.
