Bengaluru: India beat Afghanistan in the third T20I via second Super Over in the thriller here on Wednesday night and completed the whitewash in the series. After the scheduled match ended in a tie, the final T20I has been decided vie Super Over. The visitors scored 16 runs in the Super. India managed exactly the same score for which the match moved to the second Super Over.
In the second Super Over, India scored 11 runs while the visitors managed only one run before losing both wickets.
Earlier, after Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh powered India to 212/4, Afghanistan batters took Indian bowlers to the cleaners as they took the game into the super-over.
Skipper Rohit Sharma produced a marvellous, situation-defying hundred, his fifth in T20Is, as India recovered from a top-order meltdown to post a massive total.
