ROME: Joaquin Correa couldn't have a better debut for Inter Milan as the new arrival came off the bench to bag a brace on Friday, helping the Nerazzurri come out of an early hole to beat Hellas Verona 3-1 away in Serie A.

Correa just completed his move to Inter one day ago, joining the defending champion on a initial loan deal with an obligation to buy. Lautaro Martinez returned to action to partner with Edin Dzeko on forward line, while Correa sat on the bench.

Verona took a shock lead in the 15th minute, as Inter's goalkeeper Samir Handanovic's poor pass was intercepted, Ivan Ilicic chipped it over an on-rushing Handanovic.

Inter got back on level terms straight after the break as Ivan Perisic's throw-in was flicked on by Dzeko for Lautaro to steer his header into the net.

Inter threw on Correa in the 74th minute and the Argentinean scored his maiden goal for his new club nine minutes later when he hung in the air to head in Matteo Darmian's floated cross.

The Beneamata sealed the win in the dying minute when Correa collected the ball on the edge of the box before firing in a daisy-cutter.

Also on Friday, Udinese dominated Venezia 3-0. Agencies
