New Delhi: Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton kept his Formula One title battle alive with Red Bull driver Max Verstappen by winning the Brazilian Grand Prix despite tough conditions.

Despite started 10th on the grid due to a penalty, the seven-time world champion Hamilton started still managed to beat Verstappen.

Verstappen, the winner of this race last held in 2019, finished second. Verstappen's lead over Hamilton in the Drivers' Championship is now only 14 points. There are still three races to go. The winner of the race gets 25 points.

Hamilton's teammate Valtteri Bottas was third while Red Bull's Sergio Perez was fourth. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished fifth and Carlos Sainz sixth.

Mercedes team got an 11-point over Red Bull in the team table after Hamilton's win.

The next race will be held in Qatar on November 21, followed by races in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi.
