11th Bodousa Cup Soccer Tournament to Kick off on Sunday

GUWAHATI: The 11th edition of the Bodousa cup Soccer Tournament will kick off on Sunday in different venues. Bodousa Sports clubs will host the event.

Addressing a media conference the president of the Bodousa Cup Sports Club Arunjyoti Moran said, like the previous year this time also the competition would be held across the state. Altogether ten venues will be used to host the meet and these are: Ghagrapar, Changsari, Bihpuria, Diphu, Margherita, Digboi, Duliajan, Kothalguri Doomdooma and Tinsukia.

The competition will kick off at three venues simultaneously on September 22. Duliajan will host Moran TC vs Duliajan Academy game while at Ghagrapar local outfit Ghagrapar RSA will face Ryntih SCC in another group ‘A’ opening match. In the other opening day match TRDSC will take on Tengakhat.

Moran said, “Although there will be no team from abroad this season but three I league team-Gokulam Kerala, TRAU, Manipur and Minerva FC, Punjab confirmed their participation in the championship along with OILFC BSF, Jalandhar and Assam Rifles.

Both the semi finals would be held on October 1 and 2 while the final is slated for October 4.

Champion team this season will collect Rs 2 lakh while the runners up team will be richer by Rs one lakh. The third and fourth position winners will collect a purse of Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000.

The media briefing was also attended by the president and the working president of the organizing committee Pradan Baruah, who is also the MP from Lakhimpur, and Lakhya Konwar (Member Secretary, SLAC).
