43rd All India Railway Basketball begins at NFRSA Sports Complex

GUWAHATI: The 43rd All India Railway Basketball (Women's) Championship 2019 got underway at the NFRSA Sports complex in Maligaon today. General Manager of NF Railway Sanjive Roy attended the inaugural function as a chief guest and also inaugurated the meet. In his speech GM (NFR) while welcoming all participants, hoped that this National level tournament will help players to showcase their talent and prove their skill so that they are able to represent the country in the International tournament.

Around 144 players from 12 teams are participating in the tournament. The players list included the name of Geethu Anna Jose, an Arjuna Award winner and captain of Indian team, along with several former and current players of Indian squad. The final will be held on October 25.
