66th Bordoloi Trophy: OILFC Book Berth in Semi-Finals

GUWAHATI: Oil India Limited Football club (OILFC) stormed into the semi-final of 66th Bordoloi trophy football tournament defeating Navajyoti Club 4-0 in a group ‘A’ match held at the Nehru stadium here today.

Mintu Boro and Tulya Das scored two goals each in the game.

After the barren first half, OILFC scored all four goals in a gap of 12 minutes. Boro put ahead OILFC in the 70th minute. He netted another one 8 minutes later to increase the margin. Tulya Das scored the last two goals of his side in 79th and 82nd minutes respectively.

In the other match at Sonapur Gauhati Town Club beat Sunrise Club 3-1. Both the teams are already out of title race. Jitu Ahmed, Sanjeev Baruah, and Arman Singha scored one goal each for GTC while Jengma Rongmei scored the lone goal for Sunrise.

In the last game in the league phase, FC Green Valley will play against Daimalu Club at Sonapur on Thursday. Green Valley just need a draw to book a berth in the semi-final.
