Tezpur: To commemorate 86th Air Force Anniversary celebration-2018 a Trans Himalayan MTB (Mountain Terrain Bike) Expedition from Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO), the highest airfield of IAF in North, is being conducted by Indian Air Force. The Indian Himalayan Region (IHR) is the section of the Himalaya within India, Spanning the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Utterakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh into Mayanmar and China. The Expedition is likely to culminate between October 5 to 6 at Kibithu (Arunachal Pradesh), covering approximately 4,500 Kms.

A 20 member team, led by Wing Commander S Sarathchandra reached Air Force Station Chabua on September 20 to scale the new heights and create awareness among masses. On September 30 the team was flagged-off by Air Commodore George Thomas, Vayusena Medal, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Chabua. The expedition aims to nature the spirit of adventure and camaraderie to commemorate AF Day Celebration and to promote “Go Green and Global/ Warming Awareness.”
