GUWAHATI: All India Football Federation will grant a COVID-19 Solidarity fund to its State Associations. The Federation also took two more important decisions- waive of the CRS fees for all players and Academy Accreditation fee.
The president of the AIFF Praful Patel recently met with the Presidents and General Secretaries of the different State Associations in a virtual meeting and during that meeting these announcements was made by Patel.
The secretary of the Assam Football Association Hemendra Nath Brahma who also attended the meeting informed The Sentinel, "During that meeting issues like player's registration and other were discussed. Later the president made the announcement of waive of fees."
The pandemic has affected the Indian sports badly and different State Associations are struggling to bring back normalcy. The COVID-19 Solidarity fund, which would be around Rs 3 Crore, could give some relief to the State Football Associations. The fund will be distributed as per the requirement of the different State Football Association.
In the meeting Patel also announced to waive of the CRS fees for all players – an amount of Rs. 1.32 crore which was to be paid to the AIFF. Another 34.5 lakhs for the Academy Accreditation fee for the 2020-21 season was also waived by the Federation.
It may be mentioned here that the football season is all set to begin in the country in October. Both I-league and ISL will be held in single venue.
