All India U-19 Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament: Double crown for Samarveer

GUWAHATI: Samarveer bagged the double crown in the Yonex-Sunrise All India U-19 Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament that concluded at the DTRP Indoor Stadium in the city on Wednesday. The shuttler from Chandigarh clinched boy’s singles as well as the mixed double titles in the competition. Tanvi Sharma of Punjab won girl’s singles title.

In the boy’s singles final, Samarveer got the better of Pranay Shettigar of Maharashtra 15-21, 21-11, 21-10. In the girl’s section, Tanvi Sharma won against Shreya Lele of Gujarat 24-22, 21-10.

Other final results: (Boys u-19 doubles)-Nicholas Nathan (RAJ)/Tushar Suveer (KTK) bt Divyam Arora (UP)/Mayank Rana (HAR) 12-21,21-17,21-18. (Girls U-19 doubles): Karnika Sree S (KTK)/Taneesha Singh (UP) bt Gayathri Rani Jaiswal (KTK)/Sania Sikkandar (TN) 21-18,19-21,21-10. (U-19 Mixed Doubles): Samarveer (CHG)/Radhika Sharma (PNB) bt Bharath Sanjai (TN)/Sania Sikkandar 21-14, 21-13.
