Archery Camp inaugurated at Sivasagar

GAURISAGAR: A 22-day-long Archery Training Camp for budding archers of Sivasagar district, under ONGC’s CSR initiative, was inaugurated by Suresh D Maske , Executive Director cum Asset Manager, Assam Asset held at recently. The Camp was conducted at ONGC Kendriya Vidyalay Ground, Sivasagar, organized by ONGC’s AlI India OBC & MOBC Employees Welfare Association, Assam Asset Branch in association with Sivasagar District Archery Association and Town Archery Association under ONGC’s CSR. The camp was organized with a view to promote Archery considering the vast natural talent in Sivasagar & Charaideo Districts. Veteran NIS coach Gunin Changmai conducted the camp. A total of 70 trainees attended the Camp.

Inaugurating the camp, Executive Director Maske emphasized that ONGC has always been promoting sports & sports persons, especially talents from needy & underprivileged background with huge potential & promise. He stressed that there is abundance of natural talent in Archery in North East, especially Assam and the target is to produce more olympians from this region. He shared about the proposed Archery Academy at Charaideo District, which ONGC, under its CSR initiative, is supporting the district authority for its implementation. Executive Director Maske personally interacted with the trainees and coaches, enquiring about the facilities available in Archery and how ONGC can further help to supplement the infrastructural development of this game.
