BORDUMSA: Arunachal's Jowkhum Dilli, a 22-year-old Singpho youth- who qualified at the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) Asian Championship slated from August 24 to 28 at Cholpon Ata in Krgyzstan appeals for moral and financial support from the people of Arunachal Pradesh, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and his state government.

The mixed martial deadly fighter of his weight category, who hails from Arunachal's Bordumsa in Changlang district, is the son of Mailu Moko - a mere casual worker at Water resource Department in Bordumsa.

The budding hilly talent during an exclusive video conference from New Delhi with The Sentinel told that he has been facing financial constraints in regard to meeting his daily required food supplements, nutrition's, coaching fees and flight tickets for the championship. "I urge my people, government and Union Minister Rijiju sir to help me participating in the battle as my mom alone cannot make the both end meet beside sending me abroad for the C'ship which I have been dreaming of since my childhood", said the fighter.

"With a burning desire to establish the identity of my Singpho community and the state as a whole through martial arts at the international arena, I had quit my higher education and joined martial arts at Bidang MMA in Guwahati from 2016 to 2018 besides undergoing 3 months Combat Clan at Kolkata, briefed Dilli adding thereafter for grooming in professionally, I joined Abrasumente Asademy in Bangalore for 6 months. Further, I joined Crosstrain Fight Club in New Delhi which is one of the top academies that has produced many national and international champions. I was selected for the c'ship earlier in the month of March during an state level contest held at Bangalore, said the Arunachalee fighter.

Meanwhile, the local MLA Bordumsa while congratulating the Arunachal's indigenous Singpho fighter said that he is ready to bear the cost of flight tickets and accommodation that costs around Rs 1.20 lakhs as expected by Dilli.

"It is our pride that our local youth from Bordumsa is representing not only the State of Arunachal Pradesh but the nation as a whole", said the local legislator.

"Our hilly state has progressed a lot over a period of time in the fields of sports and talents have been coming to national and international limelight under the leadership of CM of the State Pema Khandu and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju", he added.
