GUWAHATI: Barak Bravehearts and Subansiri Champs easily win their opening matches in the Assam T20 Challengers Cricket which got under way at the Judges Field here here on Saturday.
Barak Bravehearts, in the opening match of the competition, defeated Manas Tigers by 7 wickets. While in the other game of the day Subansiri Champs registered four wickets victory over Kaziranga Heroes.
Earlier, the championship was inaugurated by chief guest Partha Sarathi Mahanta, Joint Commissioner of Police, Guwahati. Tanmoy Jyoti Mahanta, Senior Advocate and Treasurer of Veteran Cricket Association of Assam and Nabaneet Mahanta, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Commissionerate attended the inaugural function as guest of honour along with several officials of the Assam Cricket Association.
Altogether six teams are taking part in the competition which is introduced by the Assam Cricket Association this year to provide much needed match practice to the state cricketers before the start of the season.

2nd game-Kaziranga Heroes Vs Subansiri Champs: Kaziranga Heroes 129/5 (20 overs), Denish Das 52, Bishal Saha 23, Amit Sinha 22, Mikhail Doley 3-20, Subansiri Champs 130/6 in (19.3 overs), Kunal Saikia 47 (not out), Raj Agarwal 27, Saahil Jain 15, Ranjeet Mali 2-27, Dasarath Kumar 2-38.
