Assam Taekwon-Do (ITF) Championship Starts in Lakhimpur

Lakhimpur: The 9th Assam Taekwon-Do (ITF) Championship' 2022 kick-started at North Lakhimpur Indoor Stadium of Lakhimpur district on Friday with a two-day long programme. The event has been organized by Lakhimpur District ITF Taekwon Do Association which is affiliated to Taekwon-Do Association, Assam (ITF), Indian ITF Taekwon-Do Federation & International Taekwon-Do Federation, Spain. The inaugural function of the event was held under the management of patron Raju Singha in the presence of State president Dr. Hirakjyoti Das and general secretary Rabijit Rajkumar. It commenced with Lakhimpur district president Purnananda Borah. The event was inaugurated by prominent athlete-cum-sport organizer Latiful Ahmed Hussain. Trilo Singh paid floral tribute to the portrait of the father of Taekwondo, General Choi Hong Hi, Lakhimpur district founder Bilu Singh, member Bhuban and Assam State founder Biswajit Das. Prominent social worker Uday Sankar Hazarika and a galaxy of prominent personalities were present in the programme. A number matches among the players from 5 years to 40 years in different events will be played in the tournament.
