Athlete Sashi Khaond shines in National Masters' Games

LAKHIMPUR: Veteran woman athlete Sashi Khaond has managed to bring laurels to the State by bagging 2 gold medals and same number silver medals in the National Masters' Games which was held in Chandra Sekhar Nayar Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram from May 18 to 21. Sashi bagged gold medals in 100m race and long jump while she grabbed the silver medals in discuss throw and relay race. Sashi Khaond is a retired employee of the Lakhimpur Deputy Commissioner's office and secretary of the Women Games of Assam. After retirement, the 66 year-old veteran woman athlete has dedicated herself to work for the development of woman games in the State. Prior to it, she took part in Khelo Masters Games- 2022 held at Tyagraj Sports Complex in New Delhi and grabbed one gold medal and two silver medals.
