Kokrajhar: Baksa district lifted the championship trophy of the BTC-Army Football Premier League organized jointly by Sports and Youth Welfare, BTC and Sikh Li Infantry of the Red Horns Division in the final match played at Govt. HS&MP School playground, Kokrajhar today defeating Udalguri district by 4-0 goals. The league is organized for all ten sub divisions of BTC districts every year to hunt the rural talents.

Baksa district dominated the match. Jagyas Deka scored two goals in the 21st and 40th minutes and Bimal Boro in 37th minute while Dhiraj Rajbongshi netted in 42nd minute for the winners.

The champion trophy along with cash Rs 2 lakh was given away by BTC EM of Sports and Youth Welfare Doneswar Goyary while Runners up the trophy and cash Rs 1 lakh was handed over by the Commanding Officer of the Sikh Li Infantry Alin Saha. Jagyas Deka of Baksa received the best player trophy. The Deputy Chief of BTC Kampa Borgoyary also attended the final match for a brief time. Besides, Additional Principal Secretary of BTC Robinson Mashahary, DC, PP Mazumdar, SP, Rajen Singh, and other officers attended the final match ceremony.
