ITANAGAR: Capital Complex clinched the second Under-18 State Level Hornbill Kabaddi Championship defeating the rival Kurung Kumey district by 2 points in the final match played at Marik Academy here at Chimpu on Sunday.
Capital Complex won the game against Kurung kumey by 62=60 by the final time. The championship was organized by the Arunachal Kabaddi Association (AKA).
Attending the program as chief guest, Lawmaker Lokam Tassar said that, besides reading and writing one should also be mentally and physically strong in life. He said that it is our duty to keep our body strong and fit.
He requested the unemployed youths and dedicated sportsmen to opt the sports as a career. The state government has allocated 10 percent quota for the meritorious sportsmen in the police department and 5 percent quota in other departments, he said while adding that sports it is also an employment opportunity.
“Witnessing the game played by the teenagers today, I really feel that our boys and girls can also represent the state in the national level Kabaddi tournament,” he added. He also requested the AKA to build a team of Kabaddi to represent in the national level and also assured all kinds of help from his end.
He asked the executive members of AKA to propose the state government and concerned sports department for a proper ground for the players. Without proper surroundings, trainer, and facility, one cannot excel in any sports and games, he added.
Meanwhile, he also assured to request the department of sports and youth affairs and state Olympic associations to enroll the AKA, so that the boys and girls can get all the basic needs and training through proper channels.
